Get to Know Me

My journey to becoming a Doula started on February 8th, 2024. When I attended the birth of my dear friend Cassidy’s first baby, she delivered her son in a birthing tub at Gentle Landings Birth Center in New Hampshire, close to where we grew up. Although I currently live in Massachusetts, I got the message early that morning, that she had gone into labor. I was so excited; I arrived before her at the Birthing Center, helped her inside, cared for her, and encouraged her throughout her entire birthing process, until 1:49 pm when her son Wes was born. I stayed into the evening with them, until she took her newborn home. The entire day was so beautiful, peaceful, and full of love. I even got to cut their umbilical cord! I told her that night that she had helped me find my calling. I didn’t even know what a Doula was until that day! I remember thinking, “I could do this forever”. It just felt so natural to nurture and support her through this once-in-a-lifetime birth. Fast forward to the current day, a Birth Doula Workshop taught by a Midwife with over 700 births under her belt was set for the same day as my first birth, a whole year later. The timing was kismet, and I’m so fortunate to have had this introduction to my career.

I’ve known since childhood that I want to be a mother; I have a passion for babies, toddlers, and children. They bring me so much joy. I became a Toddler Teacher, then an elementary-level Special Education Paraprofessional. Since moving to Massachusetts in 2023, I’ve been the Nanny for a truly wonderful 2-year-old who I’ve supported since he was 8 months old.

Working with children has been my path for as long as I can remember, but Cassidy’s birth inspired a whole new world of opportunity. I know that I am an amazing support person, and helping people has always been a driving force in my life. So to combine all of my strengths in this way just feels right, and even empowering.
